The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mercy is proud to offer minimally invasive approaches to the treatment of many diseases. Minimally invasive surgical techniques have steadily become more widespread. Some techniques are straightforward, easily adaptable modifications of current surgical procedures, but many require significant levels of training and expertise to provide the greatest benefit. Dedicated to providing patients with minimally invasive options that allow for faster recovery, the surgeons at The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery at Mercy have a unique level of training and experience in advanced laparoscopic techniques. They review each patient’s case to apply new techniques that are less invasive than traditional options. The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery offers single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) for some conditions. This technique requires a single incision, usually within the belly button, as opposed to the traditional four incisions. Single incision laparoscopic surgery, which takes an advanced level of training, enables less scarring and improved cosmetic result. Our doctors also offer robotic surgery using the da Vinci® surgical system for patients requiring gallbladder removal. With advanced robot-assisted technology our surgeons use high-definition 3D cameras and control robotic arms to perform a more precise procedure. Incisions are typically one half inch resulting in less scarring, shorter hospital stays and reduced recovery time for patients that are eligible for the procedure. Please consult your physician to find out if you are a good candidate for the procedure. The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery is continually updating its technology as new equipment becomes available. The state-of-the-art facility houses intra-operative ultrasound and High Definition (HD) cameras, which provide better clarity during surgery. Now Accepting New Patients.
