Catherine Novotny, PA-C, is a professionally trained physician assistant with The Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Center at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Catherine works alongside Mercy's upper extremity surgeons, caring for patients with a variety of upper extremity orthopedic conditions and disorders.

Certified Physician Assistant

Catherine Novotny earned a Masters of Medical Science from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA. She is certified physician assistant qualified by additional postgraduate training and experience.

Catherine diagnoses and treats patients suffering from conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hands. She performs a variety of office based functions and procedures. She writes and reviews routine patient orders and prescriptions. She also places casts and splints, administers injections, and aspirates cysts and joints. Catherine also consults on an inpatient and emergency medicine basis.

Experience in Orthopedic Surgery

Catherine previously spent time with Mercy’s Department of Surgery assisting in a variety of orthopedic surgeries. She now regularly assists Mercy's upper extremity surgeons during common and complex upper extremity surgeries.
