Mercy Physicians Named Among "Top Docs" In Baltimore Magazine November 2009 Issue
(Baltimore, MD) – Mercy Medical Center physicians Drs. John Campbell, J. Lawrence Fitzpatrick, Neil B. Friedman, Marc Hungerford, Dwight Im, Mark Myerson, Neil B. Rosenshein, Armando Sardi and Debra Vachon have been named to Baltimore Magazine’s November 2009 “TOP DOCS” issue, Thomas R. Mullen, president and CEO of Mercy Medical Center, has announced.
Dr. Armando Sardi, Director, The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy, was highlighted for his work with HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraoperative Peritoneal Chemotherapy) with an interview and half-page color photograph. A surgical oncologist, Dr. Sardi was pictured in the OR with the HIPEC machine which is used during cancer surgery to infuse the patient’s abdominal area with heated chemotherapy, shown to be a more effective treatment in killing cancer cells.
