The mission of the Prevention and Research Center is to improve the health of individuals through clinical programs and research into the prevention, early detection and treatment and long-term management of diseases. In addition to fostering integration of research into clinical care, the Center offers consultative services for assessing the risk of cancer and developing management strategies. A new and innovative program currently in development will offer services to improve and maintain health for people dealing with chronic health problems and those who want to maximize their general health and well-being.
Medical Director, Kathy J. Helzlsouer, M.D., MHS has a commitment to excellence in health care for women. She is a nationally recognized expert in both clinical preventive services and research to improve health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
