What is Brachytherapy?

In some cases, persistent urinary incontinence may be caused by cancer, such as prostate cancer. Brachytherapy is targeted radiation therapy used to treat cancer. It is a procedure that places radioactive material inside the body in higher doses and in more specific areas of the body as compared to external radiation. This type of internal radiation may also have fewer side effects than external beam radiation.
