Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy at Mercy Medical Center

Restorative Therapies - PT, OT, Speech - Mercy - Baltimore

The spine specialists at The Maryland Spine Center at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore collaborate with The Center for Restorative Therapies at Mercy to assess each patient’s physical therapy needs following spine surgery. If patients are not ready to go home a few days after surgery, additional rehabilitation is provided on the transitional care unit. This rehabilitation focuses on strength, function, and gaining independence so minimal or no assistance is needed when patients return home. For patients experiencing pain due to spinal conditions such as degenerative disc disease, kyphosis and degenerative scoliosis physical therapy may be recommended as a first treatment option.
