Finding the Best Brings Assurance. Confidence. Hope.
The Very Best. That’s what women want when they are facing breast reconstruction and breast restoration surgery. Women who have received a breast cancer diagnosis already know they will face involved treatment and surgery to restore their breasts. For some women this also means restoring their self-esteem, sense of femininity and self-confidence. Dr. Bernie Chang and Dr. Brendan Collins understand breast reconstruction is more than a treatment plan. It is first about medical excellence. But it also is about giving a woman optimism, inspiration and hope.
Dr. Bernie Chang, Director of Baltimore’s Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Mercy also leads The Breast Reconstruction and Restoration Center at Mercy, and is a recognized pioneer in the field of reconstructive breast surgery. Dr. Collins also has been specially trained in microsurgical breast reconstruction techniques and has years of hands-on experience. For decades, our Mercy doctors have cared, treated and performed these delicate surgeries; perfecting their skills, enhancing the outcomes for their patients.
In addition to offering a full complement of breast reconstruction procedures, Drs. Chang and Collins work closely with Mercy colleague Dr. Craig Vander Kolk, who provides specialized expertise in lumpectomy correction. Dr. Vander Kolk uses fat-grafting techniques to restore shape and symmetry following lumpectomy.
