Tarnisha Hemphill, MSN, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife at Mercy. Ms. Hemphill earned her Master’s degree in Nurse-Midwifery from the University of Maryland School of Nursing at Baltimore. She completed her undergraduate work in Nursing and Deaf Studies at Towson University.
Prior to coming to Mercy, Ms. Hemphill was at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where she served as Senior Charge Nurse facilitating teamwork and functioning as a resource person and liaison to staff, physicians, residents, anesthesiologists, patients and families. She also worked as an OB scrub nurse, childbirth educator and preceptor for new nursing personnel and nursing students.
Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Fetal Monitoring and Interpreting for the Deaf, Ms. Hemphill is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honorary Society.
