Planned Giving

Explore a meaningful gift to accommodate your personal goals and perpetuate the good works of the Sisters and Mercy Medical Center.

It all began with a planned gift. In 1824, Catherine McAuley, an Irish lay woman, used her substantial inheritance to build the first House of Mercy in a wealthy area of Dublin. Had it not been for the freedom, and flexibility offered by this inherited source of wealth, the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy itself might never have come into being.

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Mercy and to ensure that it will continue to fulfill its historic mission of providing excellent and compassionate care to all those seeking its services.

Our Mercy Health Foundation team would be happy to work with you to explore a meaningful gift to accommodate your personal goals and perpetuate the good works of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Medical Center.

Through planned giving, it is possible to:

  1. make gifts to Mercy larger than you can afford through immediate outright contributions;
  2. retain control and use of assets you plan to donate later;
  3. receive lifetime income for yourself and your family; or
  4. reduce income taxes, gift taxes or estate taxes.

All donors who make a planned gift are welcomed into the McAuley Society.
