Dr. Babette Glister is known for her experience in diagnosing and treating thyroid disorders such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, autoimmune thyroid disease, thyroiditis/inflammation, goiter and thyroid nodules. Dr. Glister also specializes in the treatment of pituitary and adrenal disorders. She works with each patient to define the optimal treatment plan, often recommending best-in-practice technologies such as ultrasound guided thyroid biopsy, fine-needle aspiration and nuclear isotope therapy.

Dr. Babette Glister is a retired U.S. Army Colonel and Iraq War veteran, with more than 20 years as an award-winning teacher and practitioner at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and other military facilities. She held many roles during her military tenure, including Program Director of the National Capital Consortium Endocrinology fellowship, Assistant Professor in Medicine at Uniformed Services University, and Chief of the Osteoporosis Clinic at the National Naval Medical Center. 

Dr. Glister has authored numerous articles and abstracts, as well as lectured and presented on various topics including: thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, autoimmune thyroid disease, osteoporosis, vitamin D metabolism, neuroendocrine tumors, diabetes, menopause and other gender-specific hormone issues.
