Physical & Occupational Therapy
The orthopedic surgeons at Mercy and the licensed physical and occupational therapists on Mercy's inpatient team as well as The Center for Restorative Therapy work together to develop individual therapy programs that will provide the best treatment recovery for their patients.
Physical & Occupational Therapy Services
Our on-site Center for Restorative Therapy at Mercy offers our patients:
- Post-surgical mobility and rehabilitation
- Balance and proprioception retraining program
- Home exercise programs
- First-line therapy to address orthopedic issues without surgery
- Evaluation and casting for custom foot orthoses
- Diabetic foot care including total contact casting, wound management, and orthoses fabrication
- Computerized plantar foot pressure evaluation
- Gait training
The Center for Restorative Therapies at Mercy provides general rehabilitative services including comprehensive physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy as well as specialty services specific to various medical conditions such as lymphedema, cancer, osteoporosis and swallowing problems.
