Alex (Sang) An, M.D., provides primary care for patients ages 18 and older at Mercy Personal Physicians at Overlea, a Community Physician Site affiliated with Mercy Medical Center, on Belair Road in Eastern Baltimore County. 

Care for a Wide Range of Primary Care Conditions

Board Certified, Dr. An offers preventive care, diagnosis and treatment for a full spectrum of primary care conditions, including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), smoking, depression, anxiety, neuropathic pain, seasonal allergies and upper respiratory tract infections.

Focus on Geriatric Care

While Dr. Alex An treats young adult patients ages 18 and above, he is especially fond of treating elderly patients. Dr. An enjoys taking care of elderly patients with multiple medical problems, including diabetes, hypertension, heart and pulmonary illnesses. He also has a concern about Polypharmacy, or the effects of taking multiple medications at the same time to manage simultaneous medical conditions. Dr. An works diligently to eliminate unnecessary medications for all patients, but especially his geriatric patients.       

During his down time, Dr. Alex An loves to spend time with his family, especially with his young son. He also enjoys swimming, singing and playing the guitar.
