Mercy Medical Center Named Among Most Socially Responsible Hospitals for Third Consecutive Year

Mercy Medical Center has once again been recognized by the Lown Institute as one of the nation’s “Most Socially Responsible Hospitals,” earning an “A” Social Responsibility grade on the 2026–2027 Lown Institute Hospitals Index. This marks the third consecutive year Mercy has received the distinction.
The Lown Institute Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility evaluates more than 3,600 hospitals and 300 hospital systems using more than 50 metrics across the categories of health outcomes, value, and equity. The Index highlights hospitals that deliver exceptional care while advancing health equity and investing in the well-being of the communities they serve. Measures include community benefit, racial inclusivity, avoidance of overuse, and other indicators of socially responsible healthcare.
Mercy Medical Center earned the following top marks on the 2026–2027 Lown Institute Hospitals Index:
