Christine O'Connor, M.D., serves as the Director of Well-Woman and Adolescent Care in The Institute for Gynecologic Care at Mercy.  Dr. O’Connor is known for building a strong doctor-patient relationship with the women she treats. She is warm, engaging and extremely knowledgeable.

Dr. O’Connor gives women of all ages a sense of ease and comfort. She is especially effective with young women who are beginning the routine of annual GYN visits. A personal quality women often admire in Dr. O’Connor is her ability to build the necessary relationship and trust required to address each patient’s healthcare needs.

Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Options for Most Women

For many patients, annual GYN exams lead to early detection of many gynecologic issues ranging from abnormal uterine bleeding to complications from endometriosis and fibroids. When gynecologic issues elevate in severity, Dr. O’Connor is able to manage her patients’ care through a wide variety of treatment options.  Dr. O’Connor is an exceptionally gifted surgeon, with particular strength in minimally invasive/endoscopic and robotic surgeries. Dr. O’Connor is recognized by her peers for her natural skill and expertise in the Operating Room.

Adolescent GYN Program Designed for a Lifetime of Care

Mercy’s Adolescent GYN program is one of the first healthcare steps young girls take as they begin the transition to becoming an independent adult woman. The Women’s Center at Mercy developed this program to introduce to teens and young girls the importance primary care and reproductive health care visits can make in all stages of their lives. Dr. O’Connor reinforces the message that routine visits will make it easier to identify and manage a woman’s gynecologic needs and often allow clinical solutions to take place in the early stages of diagnosis or disease.

Dr. O’Connor is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her particular area of interest and expertise is caring and treating the needs of her gynecologic patients. Dr. O’Connor sees patients at Mercy Medical Center's Institute for Gynecologic Care in Downtown Baltimore as well as Mercy Personal Physicians at Glen Burnie.
