The Medi-Spa at Mercy offers a variety of medical skin care products. Our licensed estheticians work with you to take care of your needs before and after your surgery.

Why Medical Skin Care?

Professionals in a medical spa are licensed and work under a physician's supervision. We are able to individualize treatments in accordance with other non-surgical treatments or to the specific surgery you are having performed.

Mercy's plastic surgeons agree that surgery alone does not complete the whole package.

Environmental factors that enhance aging are UV light (not just sun rays), smog, smoke, alcohol, drugs, stress, diet, chemicals, cosmetics and exercise. Signs of these environmental stresses on our bodies are inflammation, fine lines and wrinkles, dryness, cellulite, tanning, age spots, skin cancer, skin laxity and looking older.

We are here to take care of your needs before and after your surgery. Our goal is to speed your recovery and improve and maintain your results. Research and studies have proven that medical skin care improves skin's texture, increases collagen, decreases wrinkle depth and improves photo damage and hyper-pigmentation.

A medical spa is able to use higher grade products and treatments that have been diligently tested. Over the counter products, or OTCs as they are frequently referred to, are not regulated by the FDA. In addition, they do not have enough active ingredients to cause any more than a subtle change. They also do not penetrate into the dermis to enhance collagen.

That is why most women who have been informed of physician prescribed medical skin care choose to be followed by plastics surgeons, dermatologists and estheticians, whose biggest goals are to enhance your satisfaction with your appearance in an environment that is comfortable and safe.

An essential component of the therapeutic cascade, Clear is formulated with 4% hydroquinone to correct uneven surface skin color and brown spots. Apply in the morning and the evening following Obagi Nu-Derm Toner as directed by physician.
