Surgical Oncologist Vadim Gushchin, M.D., Director of The HIPEC Program, The Skin Malignancy Program and Gastrointestinal Oncology, appears as the latest guest on Mercy Medical Center's ongoing talk show series, "Medoscopy," airing on Facebook Watch.

A 30-minute pre-taped program that explores the background and lives of Mercy clinicians, patients and others, Medoscopy was launched in spring 2022 and airs in two 15-minute segments. Past episodes of Medoscopy are available for viewing on Mercy's YouTube channel.

In this segment, Dr. Gushchin, board certified in General Surgery, and a frequent guest on WBAL-TV11's "Woman's Doctor," discusses the nature of his work with HIPEC (Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy) for the treatment of abdominal cancers.

Dr. Gushchin also explores his time growing up in the Soviet Union and his efforts today to educate Russian physicians and medical students in the American/Western approach of patient-centered care. A classical pianist, Dr. Gushchin explores his interest in music and Russian culture.

Dr. Gushchin sees patients in The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy and explores what that facility offers, what's on the horizon in terms of cancer treatment, and more.

Medoscopy is filmed on the campus of Mercy Medical Center in downtown Baltimore with video, sound, and lighting by Zinnia Film.
