Jasmine Toor, M.D., FACP, a fellowship-trained, board-certified physician specializing in primary care sports medicine, and director of sports concussions at Sports Medicine at Mercy, and Nicholas Anastasio, M.D., a board-certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Orthopedics and Joint Replacement at Mercy, are guests of the hospital’s ongoing talk show series, "Medoscopy," airing Tuesday and Wednesday, September 24 and 25 at 5:30 p.m. on Facebook Watch.
A 30-minute, pre-taped program that explores the background and lives of Mercy clinicians, patients and others, Medoscopy was launched in spring 2022 and airs in two 15-minute segments. To view past episodes, visit the Medoscopy playlist on the Mercy Medical Center YouTube channel.
In this latest installment, Drs. Toor and Anastasio discuss their work in sports medicine, as well as non-surgical orthopedics, while shedding light on their backgrounds and lives outside the hospital.
Dr. Toor explained her interest in the prevention and treatment of concussion, and the importance of relieving day-to-day stress through exploring activities like painting, photography and gardening. Dr. Anastasio discussed his interest in finding minimally invasive and non-surgical approaches to treating sports-/orthopedic-related issues.
Dr. Toor noted that her life-long enthusiasm for playing soccer helped steer her toward her career in sports medicine. Dr. Anastasio, who relates how he played collegiate football - as did his father and brothers - explains how his interests now lie in boating, fishing and cooking.
Medoscopy is filmed on the campus of Mercy Medical Center in downtown Baltimore with video, sound and lighting by Zinnia Film.
