Babette Glister, M.D.

Babette Glister, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified endocrinologist at The Center for Endocrinology at Mercy Medical Center. She specializes in thyroid, pituitary and adrenal disorders. 

Accomplished Endocrinologist, Author and Lecturer

Dr. Glister diagnoses and treats endocrine disorders, such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid cancer, autoimmune thyroid disease, thyroiditis/inflammation, goiter and thyroid nodules. She uses best-in-practice technologies, including ultrasound guided thyroid biopsy, fine-needle aspiration and nuclear isotope therapy. The author of numerous articles and abstracts, she has lectured and presented on osteoporosis, vitamin D metabolism, neuroendocrine tumors, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, menopause and other gender-specific hormone issues.

Respected U.S. Army Veteran

A now-retired U.S. Army colonel and Iraq War veteran, Dr. Glister spent more than 20 years as an award-winning teacher and practitioner at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and other military facilities. She held many roles during her military tenure, including program director of the National Capital Consortium Endocrinology fellowship, assistant professor of medicine at Uniformed Services University, and chief of the osteoporosis clinic at the National Naval Medical Center.
