Catherine Novotny, PA-C, is a professionally trained physician assistant with The Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist and Hand Center at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She works alongside Mercy's upper extremity surgeon Dr. Gregory Gasbarro, caring for patients with a variety of upper extremity orthopedic conditions and disorders.

Physician Assistant Catherine Novotny diagnoses and treats patients suffering from a variety of conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hands such as:

• Arthritis
• Joint Injury of the Upper Extremity
• Joint or Tendon Inflammation of the Upper Extremity
• Ligament Tears and Sprains
• Rotator Cuff Injuries
• Upper Extremity Sprains, Fractures or Dislocations

She performs various office-based procedures, including casting and splinting, in-office injections and aspirating cysts and joints. Catherine Novotny, PA-C, also manages patient care by writing and reviewing routine orders and prescriptions, and provides consultations services for inpatient and emergency medicine cases.

Physician Assistant Catherine Novotny’s surgical experience includes assisting in a range of orthopedic surgeries through her previous work with Mercy’s Department of Surgery. She now collaborates closely with Mercy’s upper extremity surgeons, providing expert assistance in both routine and complex upper extremity surgeries.
