Charles C. Edwards, M.D., is recognized as one of the nation’s leading experts in spinal surgery. Dr. Edwards has been a pioneer and innovator in developing successful spinal surgery techniques throughout his renowned career. He founded and established The Maryland Spine Center at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore to provide patients a caring and comfortable environment to receive the best treatments and leading edge surgical alternatives for spinal conditions such as scoliosis and osteoarthritis. He remains active with The Maryland Spine Center as a surgical consultant.

Innovative techniques to more accurately diagnose spinal disorders and improve results of major spine surgery have become the standard for spine surgery thanks to the impact Dr. Edwards has made.

Dr. Edwards has documented his groundbreaking spinal surgery research in more than 150 text book chapters and medical journal articles combined. He also has presented to more than 300 national and regional meetings for medical associations and universities.
