A Patient-Focused Center of Excellence for Gynecologic Cancers
Mercy Medical Center recognizes that no one ever wants to hear their doctor say, "You have cancer." It is why so much effort is focused on making sure there are people along the way to hold your hand, encourage and help you through your journey. Our staff will:
- Help you navigate through your appointments
- Work with you to find assistance for day-to-day needs
- Educate you on what you're going to go through
- Alert you to services and support groups available
- Ensure, as best as possible, that you get all your care in our one convenient facility
Our nurses are specifically trained to care for our patients and their family. In those hours following surgery, our nurses carefully monitor each patient and help with the recovery process. Mercy nurses are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to track each patient's care, pain level, medication dosage and needs. Additionally, our office staff is trained to help you and your family prior, during and after your surgery - whether in assisting with support programs, finding hotel accommodations for family during an overnight stay or helping you find resources to manage routine tasks.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Most patients whose diagnosis requires surgery will have it performed in one of our expansive, state-of-the-art Operating Rooms in The Mary Catherine Bunting Center at Mercy, the Main Hospital. Recovery will follow in one of our spacious and beautiful private rooms. Our nurses are specially trained in the care and recovery of cancer patients.
