(Annapolis, MD) -- Mercy Medical Center recently celebrated the opening of The Neil B. Rosenshein, M.D., Institute for Gynecologic Care at Annapolis, located at 888 Bestgate Road, Suite 208, in Annapolis, MD, with a special blessing of the facility by Father Thomas R. Malia, Assistant to the President for Mission at Mercy. The 2,867 square foot facility is a satellite site of Mercy Medical Center’s renowned Neil B. Rosenshein Institute for Gynecologic Care at Mercy and reflects Mercy’s ongoing expansion into the region which includes the Arnold, Crofton, Crownsville, Severna Park and Gambrills communities.

“The opening of the new Annapolis site has allowed for the expansion of Mercy’s quality women’s services to include by gynecologic and GYN-oncology services,” said gynecologic oncologist Dr. Teresa Diaz Montes, who sees patients at the Annapolis site, along with Mercy gynecologic oncologists Dr. Neil B. Rosenshein, Dr. Dwight Im, and Dr. Hyung S. Ryu. The gynecologic oncologists diagnose and treat cancers of the female reproductive tract, including ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancervaginal cancer and vulvar cancer.

Gynecologist Dr. Susan Todd Peeler, who joined Mercy in January 2020, also sees patients at Annapolis, addressing the diagnosis and treatment of GYN conditions for women of all ages, from adolescence to menopause and beyond.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to be part of a team of nationally recognized physicians, bringing high quality health care to the women of the Annapolis area. Patients now have access to both gynecologic and GYN cancer services,” Dr. Peeler said.

Board certified, Dr. Peeler is trained and experienced in minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures. She addresses such issues as excessive menstrual bleeding, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause management, and more.

According to Fr. Malia, Mercy recently recognized the 25th anniversary of Mercy’s acclaimed Center for Women’s Health and Medicine. “It has long been Mercy’s mission to care for the sick and injured, no matter their economic or social condition. As we bless this new facility, we can take heart in knowing Mercy’s tradition of compassionate care continues to spread, reaching more and more people,” he said.
