The Maryland Bariatric Center at Mercy Designated an Aetna Institute of Quality

The Maryland Bariatric Center at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore has been designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® (IOQ) bariatric facility for treating individuals living with morbid or extreme obesity.
Facilities achieve IOQ status by consistently delivering safe, effective care. Aetna shares information about quality and cost with its members to help them choose facilities that best meet their healthcare needs.

The Maryland Bariatric Center offers patients laparoscopic, minimally invasive bariatric surgery to minimize scarring, speed up recovery, and reduce post-surgical pain. Surgical weight loss options include:

- Gastric sleeve surgery (sleeve gastrectomy)
