Telemedicine Step-by-Step

We walk you through preparing for your telemedicine visit — step-by-step.

To schedule a telemedicine visit, call your doctor's office directly or schedule online via MyChart Mercy (existing patients) or Mercy's website (new patients). Please note: telemedicine options are not offered by all Mercy providers. Patients must be located within Maryland to utilize Mercy telemedicine services.

Step 1 - Start with MyChart Mercy

Patient Information:

  • Patients need to be signed up for MyChart to use telemedicine services
  • Current Patients - Sign in at the MyChart website 
  • New Patients - Sign up via the link in your email appointment confirmation

Step 2 - Get Prepared for Your Telemedicine Visit

Patient Information:

  • Be sure your web camera is set up (desktop or laptop)
  • Be sure you have downloaded the MyChart app (mobile)

Step 3 - Complete eCheck-In

Patient Information:

  • eCheck-In is required to be complete prior to the telemedicine visit
  • Patients are encouraged to complete eCheck-In more than 30 minutes before their appointment

Step 4 - Your Telemedicine Visit

Patient Information:

  • Log into MyChart up to 30 minutes prior to your appointment time
  • Be sure you have completed eCheck-In
  • Be sure you have MyChart open (desktop and laptop)
  • Be sure you have downloaded the MyChart app (mobile)
  • Wait in the virtual waiting room for your visit to start
