Events

Crabs

Events planned by the Mercy Health Foundation are wonderful opportunities to unite our leaders, staff, supporters, and community at large. In most cases, Mercy events generate dynamic fundraising opportunities, while also providing platforms to build awareness about Mercy’s programs and services, designed to meet the ever-increasing needs of the patients we serve.

BreastFest

BreastFest is The Tyanna Foundation’s signature event that invites us to celebrate life, celebrate survivors and remember those we have lost to breast cancer.

The Tyanna Foundation gets its name from Tyanna Barre O’Brien who lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 48. Through the work of her five daughters - Anne, Bridget, Megan, Sara, and Katie - Tyanna’s legacy lives on.

Mercy's Tyanna O'Brien Center for Women's Imaging was named in remembrance of Tyanna O'Brien and in support of the tireless work her daughters do to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The Tyanna Foundation has donated more than $1.5 million dollars to The Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy to provide critical support services and treatment devices for those going through treatment.

There are two events benefiting Mercy each year – BreastFest Baltimore and BreastFest Dewey Beach.

Heat It To Beat It

Heat It To Beat It is a patient-led walk to raise awareness and funds for peritoneal carcinomatosis (PC) and HIPEC surgery research and education. PC is a common and complex presentation of a variety of cancers with the abdominal cavity.

Since its inception in 2010, Heat It To Beat It has raised over $1,300,000 to support research led by Dr. Armando Sardi, Director of The Institute for Cancer Care at Mercy Medical Center, and his colleagues Dr. Vadim Gushchin, Dr. Kurtis Campbell, Dr. Peter Ledakis and Dr. Teresa Diaz-Montes.

When you support Heat It To Beat It, you become part of the movement to advance research and awareness of the life-saving HIPEC treatment for PC.

Follow Heat It To Beat It on Facebook and Instagram.

Fundraisers Organized by Others to Benefit Mercy

Throughout the year, Mercy partners with groups and individuals who plan and host events that generate funds to support Mercy’s mission of healing and service. These events are referred to as “third party fundraisers” and can benefit a department, program, area of greatest need or area of personal connection at Mercy.

Examples of third party fundraisers are: auctions, raffles, golf tournaments, school fundraisers, community events, shopping events, runs, walks, or sporting events… the list is only limited by your imagination!

If you are interested in raising money for Mercy, please let us know in advance by completing the third party fundraising form or contacting us for more information.
